If you want to venture further, the Isle of Harris and Lewis are a short ferry ride away where you can see the Callanish standing stones, Luskentyre sands , climb the hills of Harris and visit the world famous Harris Tweed centre. The beautiful island of Barra is also just a short ferry ride away from Uist and the only place in the world where you can watch scheduled aeroplanes landing on the beach, tide permitting.
