Scenic and Wildlife Watching Boat trips

Boat trips are a wonderful way to explore the Island and coastline of North Uist. They also offer great wildlife watching opportunities. Trips include the now uninhabited Monach Isles (which have the second largest breeding colony of grey seals in the world), the Shiant Isles and also to the World Heritage site of St.Kilda (for more information see our page on St.Kilda) . St. Kilda can be seen on clear days from our holiday cottage here at Balranald, North Uist.

Or visit our blog about our St. Kilda trip.

Uist Sea Tours have day trips to St Kilda from the Lochboisdale/Eriskay and also offer wildlife watching trips. Other options include a trip to the beautiful uninhabited island of Mingulay to see the puffins. There is a good chance of seeing dolphins and porpoise on this trip. Kilda cruises and SeaHarris run day trips during the summer. All trips must be booked in advance.

Boat trips are a great way to explore the coastline of Uist and see wildlife such Golden Eagles, White tailed Sea Eagles, Red Deer, Seals and Otters. Contact Nick Ingledew to arrange a trip on the Lady Ann Boat.
